Visitor restrictions - 9 July 2020

To provide the highest level of safety to residents, families/friends and staff, a decision has been made to
return to step two of visitor guidelines for our residential care facilities.

We will continue to compassionately take individual circumstances into consideration as we do understand
that the current COVID-19 situation is concerning and at times distressing for all.

In addition, Ballarat Health Services is focussed on the residents’ wellbeing and enabling choice in alternative
means of communication with their loved ones during this difficult time.

Key visitor: It is our preference, where possible, for families or significant others to work together at this time and nominate a key visitor who can keep the broader family network updated.

Minimising travel: People residing greater than 50kms south west and south east of Ballarat, and in addition to the towns listed below, are encouraged to take up alternative visit options, unless pre-arranged under compassionate grounds.

Melbourne, Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Werribee, Shire of Mitchell, Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Bendigo, and Daylesford.
