Visitor Restrictions - 14 July

Ballarat Aged Care continues to monitor the COVID-19 risk to residents.  Due to the increased community transmissions occurring in Victoria, we recognise there is an increased risk of transmission to residents in our facilities.  To support the safety of the residents and staff we will be returning to step one visitor restrictions.

The following principles continue to guide us in making such decisions:

·       protection of all people in our care,

·       the highly contagious nature of the virus,

·       risk that a COVID-19 second wave remains very real, as seen in recent media,

·       number of active COVID-19 cases approaching our community,

·       ability to keep family and friends connected with residents, using a variety of technological media and visitor alternatives,

·       The continuation of the Victoria State of Emergency decree.

During this time, we will not be allowing social visits to our residential facilities.  We will continue to compassionately take individual circumstances into consideration.

Ballarat Health Services continues to be focused on the wellbeing of all. Enabling choice and alternative means of communication is a key focus, and we have many options in place to support residents to remain in contact with family and friends.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss your individual circumstances further, please contact the Nurse Unit Manager.
