W.B. Messer Hostel is a 45 bed aged care home situated on the spacious Queen Elizabeth Village grounds in Wendouree.

The home is divided into four houses, which boast spacious and welcoming living areas.
Each house features:
- Fully equipped kitchen
- Spacious dining area
- Private lounge areas with flat screen TVs and DVD players
- Large purpose-built activities room and a number of smaller common rooms, which can also be used for family functions or gatherings on special occasions.

The well-manicured gardens provide plenty of spots to enjoy the outdoors, from the peaceful rear garden area to the easy access private courtyards.

Each of the 45 bedrooms has a private ensuite and a large window with garden views. Some also have built in wardrobes. Residents are encouraged to personalise their space with small furniture items, soft furnishings, photographs and mementos from home to make their room their own.

All rooms include

- Telephone line available
- TV antenna
- Nurse call bell (bedside and bathroom)

You need to be assessed by an Aged Care Assessment (ACAS) Officer to become a resident in any aged care facility. The ACAS service can be accessed through Ballarat Health Services. Referral to the ACAS service can be made by your GP, service provider, a family member or carer, or it can be a self-referral.
